UHPC for the Construction and Repair of Jetties, Ports, Military and Offshore Infrastructure

Jetties, piers and marine loading platforms are exposed to some of the most aggressive service conditions in civil engineering. Saltwater, chlorides, wave impact, abrasion, heavy traffic, chemicals, fuel residues and repeated mechanical loading continuously attack concrete and steel structures. In oil terminals, ports, naval bases, offshore service facilities and industrial waterfronts, this can lead to corrosion, concrete spalling, reduced load-bearing capacity and costly operational downtime.


 

Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) offers a technically advanced solution for both the construction of new jetty structures and the repair or upgrading of existing marine infrastructure. Due to its very dense microstructure, high compressive strength, low permeability and excellent resistance to chloride ingress, UHPC can significantly improve the durability of exposed components in the splash zone, tidal zone and deck area. In the offshore industry, UHPC can be used for service jetties, supply bases, cable and pipeline protection areas, splash-zone components and high-load marine access structures.
